Typical situation
Our Chief Compliance Officer contacted me with a request for us to develop and deliver ethics training to all employees in the next six months. We’re a complex, global company. Planning the logistics to fulfill the requirement will take months. I’m concerned that we have not determined all the factors necessary to support ethical performance, such as defining the standards for behavior, clarifying employee and management roles to create ethical performance, and providing a work environment to support ethical performance. We’ll document our analysis and recommendations in our training needs assessment like we always do, but I have low confidence any of the recommended actions will be taken. We’re engaged too late in the game.
This is an example of a situation where EP can help.
