Presentations

Do you have an upcoming internal HR, Learning, or OD conference for which you need a keynote presenter? Our presenters are dynamic, thought provoking, and experienced.

Presentation topics, content and approaches are tailored to meet the unique needs of any group. Topics include:

Transition to a Strategic, Business-Linked Function

Discover what Learning and HR departments have done to successfully enlarge their mission, resulting in a function that is more strategic, proactive, and business-linked. There are eight key differences between a function that is tactical and one that is strategic and performance-focused. What are these differences? What actions are taken to successfully transition a function to operate in a strategic and business-linked manner? These are some of the questions addressed in this session.

From Practitioner to Strategic Business Partner

With increasing frequency, HR, OD and Learning practitioners are transitioning to fill the role of strategic business partner. In this role the practitioner sits “at the table” partnering with leaders to translate business strategies and goals into human performance requirements and initiatives. There are three accountabilities for those who work as strategic business partners, beginning with the need to develop partnerships with key clients based upon the ACT model of Access, Credibility, and Trust.

What are the three accountabilities? How have HR and Learning practitioners successfully transitioned from a solution provider to someone who works to fill these accountabilities as a business partner? What challenges have been encountered by those who have successfully made the transition, and what techniques were used to overcome these hurdles? The answers to these questions will be provided in this presentation, the content for which is based upon research for the book the Robinsons co-authored entitled Strategic Business Partner: Aligning People Strategies with Business Goals.

Strategic Business Partner:  Taking Performance Consulting to the Next Level

With increasing frequency, those who work in Human Resources and Learning and Performance functions are transitioning into the role of a strategic business partner (SBP). In this role, SBPs draw upon their performance consulting skill sets to define and align people strategies with business goals. People in this role are truly sitting “at the table” with leaders, influencing the decisions made relative to the organization’s strategic direction. But how is the role of SBP similar to, and different from, the role of a performance consultant? What are some of the optimal practices used by performance consultants to transition into an SBP? These are some of the questions to be answered in this session.
