What is our “Operating Space?”
While some consulting firms specialize in particular niches or industries, Exemplary Performance has been able to increase value to our client organizations across multiple industries. We do this through what some have called “internal benchmarking.” External benchmarking while fashionable in some industries, encounters challenges when it comes to execution. What may be a best practice in another organization – becomes impossible to implement in your own organization. Why? Because the idea works in a different organizational culture. Or because different software or other tools are used in the benchmarked organization – and so the work environment is too different.
Meanwhile, EP’s approach is to leverage your own best performers. Even in the midst of “sub-optimal work environments” or less than ideal tools and software, your star performers have figured out how to make things work. Along the way, we identify those roadblocks to superior performance as well as the work-a-rounds. The net result is both a short and longer-term plan for improving organizational performance
