Nancy Smith - Director, Strategic Partnering

Nancy Q SmithNancy Smith joined Exemplary Performance as the Director, Strategic Partnering in October, 2007.

Nancy’s passion is to inspire and drive strategic, global change at the individual, group and organizational levels. Prior to joining the company, she worked as an external consultant as well as within organizations. Her most recent work was performed within the Delphi Corporation. As a People Development Manager, she was responsible for developing organizational capabilities that facilitated a strategic culture change from a combative, price-based model to one of partnership that was cost-based. She formulated a global people development strategy for over twenty-seven hundred employees across thirty-eight countries that focused on improving supplier management. This accomplishment included the development of process support strategies, coaching structures and training programs.

After a short time, Nancy was promoted to the position of Global Business Process Manager where she facilitated and led a wide variety of complex initiatives for this $27 billion global supplier of electronic and control systems. She was actively involved in reorganization of functions, supplier support and crisis resolution as well as global supply chain management. She applied lean strategies to improve core business processes.

Prior to working at Delphi, Nancy held positions of responsibility within the PACE organization. In this role, she managed numerous projects focused on performance assessment, feedback, development, planning and program facilitation. She has also worked as an independent consultant in her own firm, working with client organizations that included Ford, ExxonMobil, DaimlerChrysler and Delphi.

Nancy has a Bachelors of Arts in Communication and Public Relations from Wayne State University and an M.A. in Organizational Communication and Management from the University of Texas at Austin. Residing in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan with her husband and two children, she is actively involved in her community and serves on the Board of Governors for Cranbrook Institute of Science, a natural history and science museum.
